The fall of the Iron Curtain… When you found out about it, you had rushed to Poland's house. He was amongst the first to rebel against the Soviet Union. As soon as the wall went up, you lost your friends because you were on the opposite side of the wall. Together you rushed to Lithuania's house, grateful that the curtain had fallen and you were granted passage to his home. You would see your beloved for the first time since the end of the War. Your heart beat in your chest with such force you feared it would burst from your chest.

"Toris!"

The first thing your eyes met was pink, chapped lips. A tongue flicked out to wet them before sliding back in behind white teeth and a teasing smile. You continued up, taking in the smaller nose and the rather rounded face. But you were fixated on the eyes. They were a very particular shade of violet and… surprisingly open. You could read the innocent surprise and delight in them upon seeing you and his best friend. You could read other things too, things that were not so nice and innocent, but those two emotions stuck out the most. Toris had seen terrible things while behind the curtain, as had Poland but you were there to help the both of them, particularly your beloved.

You beamed at him and dashed towards Lithuania, he was running at you as well. His arms wrapped around your waist. He picked you up, spun you around a few times before setting you down and he swept you up into a hug as soon as you were on your feet. He leaned down to press his forehead to yours. You could hear the Poland cheering, giving cat calls, but you were too busy clutching at Toris to keep from melting to the ground. You were certain your knees would be unable to support you if he let go. Thankfully he didn't, only hugging you close and burying his face in your hair. You were the one to finally pull away, looking him in the eyes as you ran your fingers down his face. Dare you believe he was truly there in front of you?

It was perfectly obvious to anyone watching you that they weren't planning on parting any time soon. A few people walked past you, watching with teary eyes as they realized that people had missed them. Then they took off, finding that they too had family waiting for them. Happiness was all around you and the moment was just one of pure bliss. Your arms were linked with Lithuania's. His free hand rested lightly on your fingers, soon lacing yours with his own. All in all, it felt perfect, like a dream you never wanted to wake from. Tears welled up in your eyes, but in the first time since the curtain went up.

"I-I won't let him t-take me a-away again…" Toris swore.

You smiled. Russia would never have control over Lithuania again and this you silently swore to yourself every night that you were away from him. It hurt to see him gone and there were nights where you considered trying to break across the curtain and risk war to save him, but other nations would encourage you not to risk it because World War Two had been so terrible and so recent. You were still in recovery, even with all of the money America sent over to help everyone. You wouldn't let him take Toris away from you again. You would start a war to keep Lithuania by your side. It helped that America was good friends with the Lithuanian. He would fight too. You knew that America could not deny the beck of battle, especially for the safety of a friend.

"Like kiss her already!" Poland shouted.

Now Lithuania blushed darkly at the teasing his friend was doing to him. He wasn't normally openly that affectionate. He reminded you of Japan in a way, uncertain of himself and how to act around others unless he was completely comfortable around that person and you were surrounded by complete strangers. You blushed too. Slowly two hands made their way to your face and cupped you gently. Delicately cradling your face in his hands, Toris brought his mouth down upon yours and kissed you with a passion that many others around you were also mimicking because they too had been separated from lovers when the curtain went up. Now you had reunited once and for all.
This goes to :iconturtle-alone: for being my 350th watcher. These come in far too fast for me to keep up with goodness.

This was inspired by the idea that the Iron Curtain kept everyone out until it fell when Russia finally let the other nations go one by one.
